My FN came in yesterday. I actually got it put together all by my lonesome. It wasn't as hard as some people told me it would be and I absolutely LOVE it. I can't believe how big the thing is. I feel like a zookeeper with a lion cage in my living room lol.

Forgive the "empty" look, some of the bedding was in the wash, plus there is so much room I need more!! There are blankies on the shelves, but their dark, so you can't tell.

For comparision, this is the FN next to my SuperPet cage, which I had thought was a big cage, HA!

Heres my homemade cage that I just got done with. Its 4'x4'x2' and the nice thing about it is that the whole front opens up. I can either open the small doors on the right by themselfs or open it all up. and the whole cage breakes down but the screen is perminately fassened to each side so all you have to do is remove some screws.

i keep seeing all these cool cages you all have and think to myself.. wow, they're all really colorful! lol.. i built my own cage, cuz i wanted something more sleek and modern look in my living room. its a wood cage laminated inside and out (for easy cleaning). its about chest high, with 4 rooms. upper left is food/water.. upper right is sleeping room.. lower right is litter pan.. and lower left is open for a play area. it has sliding glass doors with lock, and a trap door (lower left) little hole for them to come and go as they please. thought the trap door can slide closed if i need them to stay in the cage. there are switches across the top that control various componets throughout the cage.. all rooms have lights, (different colors.). the sleeping room as a/c. (small celling fan if you will (computer fan)) this fan draws air from outside the cage and directs it in the sleeping room to cool them down, though they like they're blankets when it may get a little to cool. the litter room has a fan in the celing to draw the air out of that room for obvious reasons. that fan is also a computer fan that draws the air up into a small enclosed room with air freshener then out of the cage. i even consider putting a small portable dvd screen in there for pure humor and a good conversation starter for guest. (pimp my cage!) hahahaha. also, disco ball coming soon. lol. let me know what ya guys think....

We just received our Ferret Nation model 142 habitat for our new ferret Missy and absolutely LOVE it. It arrived in a little over a week and we immediately began accessorizing it! Assembly was straight forward and fairly simple. Thanks ferret.com for your GREAT prices and FAST delivery! We intend on adding LOTS more "toys" as time goes on. So far we have a couple of hammocks, two food dishes and litter pans, and a bunch of assorted ferret toys. The inside wire ramps are coverd with tube socks as per one of the poster's suggestions on this site and they work GREAT!!!
To ANYONE considering the perfect home for your pet, Ferret Nation is the ONLY way to go!
We added carpeting to all the levels which makes for a MUCH quieter cage, especially when Missy decides to go on a "rampage" late at night with one of her play balls!

Here's my girlfriend Jackie posing with our "Ferret Mansion"

Top section of the cage:

Bottom Section of the cage. We added the outside ramp so missy can come and go as she wishes (While we supervise of course) Inside the cage just behind the ramp is a board covered in 80 grit sand paper which Missy occasionally runs across helping to keep her sharp nails a little smoother :

hi,

this is my ferret nation!, I do all hammock, basket and back cage myself.

It's the 2nd floor with goldie in my pink vichy hammock. This hammock have a double pocket with a pink polar filling.

the turn of gaylord for sleep in the hammock...

the basket in cloth pink vichy.

the plastic compartment isn't a liter but a basket with the favorite blanket of gaylord.

this cage is very fantastic, it's the the best ferret habitat !!!
My two ferret are so happy, and me too.

my bed is good for sleeping too

Here are two picture showing our dig-box which is basically one of those rubberized plastic under bed storage boxes filled with long grain rice and ferret toys. We drilled a bunch of air holes on top and have a 4" wide hole drilled through the cover on the top right side for entry/exit. Missy LOVES it and all the rice is contained because of the cover which snaps into place. The box top also serves as an additional shelf she like to lounge on occasionally. The left side of the box hangs on the cage via 4 hand made hooks that pass through the dig box and  hang on the bars and the right side just rests on the shelf. Box contains about 8 pounds of rice.
Also shown is how we moved the colorful hammock closer to and overlapping the top shelf to allow easier entry for Missy. Now she uses it all the time.

In my cage there is no toy.
I think it's dangerous.
The cage is just for sleep, eat, drink and to do a poo ...
I come out the ferret for play with toy.
Moreover they are always out because (for the moment) I work in my house. But if I go I don't need to worry any more.

I have toys in my guy's cage.
Some hanging ones and some loose ones. And sometimes they bring other toys to their cage when they are out and about and hide them in a sleep sack or under a blanket.
They have a good time moving the toys around the cage or moving them to and from hiding places out of the cage.

I'm so excited! I just got my FN cage a couple days ago, and today my bedding set came in the mail! If anyone wants a bedding set made, I highly suggest TortieBaby! Everything she did was so amazing. All the stitching was immaculate, and the measurements were incredible! She is absolutely awesome!

We don't have all the blankets and stuff in yet, but I just wanted to show off TortieBaby's work

Here's the top:

Whole thing:

Isn't she incredible?!?!

This is our Ferret Nation for now.

The litter pan was a lock-on for a whole of 25 seconds, twice. O_o I'll be ordering some hammocks and things soon to help pretty it up and I have some more hanging toys for it as well. I'll post updated photos later tonight if I don't have to go in for work [trying to switch my hours to Sunday since today has been a pretty horrible day for me].
