I like how there is not one thread left in this heading, including one I started a couple weeks ago... Dar24 and I have successfully relocated ourselves and 7 ferrets from Florida to Tennessee. The trip went smoothly and all 7 ferrets started out the trip in our car on a trailer but by 9 AM they were all in the cab with us. They did great, sleeping most of the time and no fighting and minimal poops off the papers. I wish we'd thought to get pics of them in the truck, especially 5 of them sleeping in the space behind the seats. We now have a bigger rental house with all laminate floors. We are near the top of a good sized hill and we have beautiful sunsets from our front porch. They've been better than average hitting the puppy pads and litter boxes here too. We left most of our furniture behind but we sold our old place and as soon as we have the check we'll go get some. The poor fuzzies don't have as many places to sleep and hide their stuff, except a couple dresser drawers and some boxes. Hopefully that'll be fixed by next weekend.

Things are different her in the hills of Tennessee compared to a few miles from the beached of Florida. We've seen very little rain, people know how to drive and generally are courteous on the road, and we have hills instead of ponds, lakes and oceans. The nearest lake, Boone Lake, has been drained down because the dam has some underground foundation issues that may take 6 years to repair. And instead of turtles, we're befriending some hummingbirds. They are quickly overcoming their fear of us. We haven't named them yet, because they will soon migrate, but for now one's Junior, a brave youngster. Dar also has a monarch catepillar in a jar that's about ready to go all cocoony. I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid, as I've lived near the eact coast for decades.
