What is a good age for a Ferret? - Tuesday, September 01, 2015 10:55 AM
I recently lost one of my fur babies to cancer in his Tail.
When i took him to the vets, she said that he was very old for a pole cat ferret at 6. I still have his sister and the thought of loosing her too is heartbreaking.

What sort of age do ferrets live to?

I have had some of mine live to 9 yrs or near it. I think most of mine though die at around 8 yrs. Recently I lost Meeko who was around 71/2 yrs old to cancer. Then there are those that get cancer at a young age out of the 45 ferrets I have had over the years probably around 6 or 7 died young and I had 2 die before they were one years old but that is rare it was a very fast acting cancer juvenile lymphoma. I think once they are 7yrs it can happen anytime. I just love them as long as I have them and mourn them when they are gone.
