Moving with Ferrets in tow!

So we live in Oregon and soon we're going to be moving about 2 hours north of here. They have a ferret nation cage and I'm wondering what everyone's input is on where the ferrets should be. I have a carrier for them to go in the car, but they REALLY don't like their carrier. We're renting a 12' budget truck and we don't plan on taking apart the cage anyway. Would I be crazy to tie down their cage in the truck and let them be in their cage for the move?

By strange coincidence, we are also moving this week, 600 miles.  We'll be dollying a car, and the ferts will be in large carriers in it.  We'll be stopping frequently for fuel and to check on them.

You're only going 2 hours.  In the car in a carrier should be fine.  From our experience, most ferrets just chill after about 15 minutes.  Because we'll have a couple mowers and other hazardous stuff in the truck, with the door closed, dark and no ventilation, ours will be in the car for the first part of the trip.  We're leaving early so we can do half the trip before the sun comes up and it starts getting too hot.  If necessary, we'll unhitch the car and Dar will drive it the rest of the way.
