So, long story short, my ferret has adrenal disease (i've posted here looking for advice a few times before). 

The deslorin implant isn't in so I got the melatonin for now. 

When physically examining my ferret, my vet went "huh, he has big kidneys" and left it at that. Now that he's experiencing some muscle loss from the adrenal disease, I can clearly feel them too. I have no idea what a "regular" ferret kidney feels like. And my vet didn't seem particularly concerned at all.

Is there anything to be concerned about a ferret with what seems like large kidneys?
