Litter Box attatching to cage - Tuesday, November 18, 2014 12:55 PM
Hi, I was wondering if attaching the litter box to the side of the cage is a necessity,  and if so, what are some basic ways to do it? (I forgot to order the litter pan with the attachment)

as unclejoe said it's not a requirement.  when i first got ferrets they moved the box around so I got one that had clips that would hook into the cage bars but I haven't used one of those for a long time.

i use pee pads (for puppies) on the bottom level of my cage and that's their bathroom.  they have a litterbox in the bathroom for when they're out but they hardly ever use it

ferrets are funny when it comes to litter boxes though - some actually have a preference - so find out what they were using at their previous owners and if they were having success with it.  You may end up wanting to get a medium cat litter box (but not use cat litter)
