Ear cleaning/chicken pox
-
Wednesday, August 27, 2014 1:37 PM
My ferrets have never had their ears cleaned, the only supplement I've found is the marshall's and that's so expensive, so is there any way I can make some? Also, since ferrets can get the your regular cold or flu they can get chicken pox too right? Thanks ,Ian

I just use q-tips dipped in some warm water to clean ears. Ferrets can catch the flu from humans, but they cannot catch the common cold (species specific) That said, it's still a good idea to practice good hygeine (wash hands) and keep contact to a minimum, as some flu symptoms may look like a general cold at first. They cannot get chicken pox
Ferrets: Wesley, Percy, Owen -rip Bandit- Bettas- Kitty, Pip, and Logan Sun Conure- Kita Gerbils- Piper and Tailer
