Ferret Rooms
-
Saturday, June 28, 2014 5:17 PM
Just wanted some input on ferret rooms or total house proofing for those who let their babies run free in the house Im thinking of letting my future babies be free roam when we're home but have a good size cage for when we're out. We would be living in a 1-2 bedroom apartment with a dog and two small pets Does this work for anyone? How did you set up? Would ferrets be able to safely use those ramps/boards some people have on their walls for cats to walk on? or are they too rambunctious? Any other ideas for safe multi levelling of your ferrets space? Would love pictures!

ferret proof!!! cabinents. heaters. door ways. holes where pipes go through walls. You wouldn't believe the places fuzzbutts can get into. Seriously. a girl I had for a while got into my kitchen cabnents, then proceeded to literally get into the walls of my house.

I live in a mobile home and we had 2 girls going out and coming in at will thorough a pipe hole under the false bottom of the kitchen cabinet. I assume the ferrets are safe around the dog? Are the ferrets the small pets? I've seen people put up tubing on the walls for their fuzzies. The shelves scare me a bit because ferts are not graceful like cats, and seem to fall a lot misjudging distances. Just about every time we play on the bed someone will war-dance over the side. Actually we haven't got the ferrets yet, our current place just isn't suitable so we're waiting until we have our own place Our small pets are a hamster, a sto (sto's are awesome pets if anyone is curious) and a snake I can't imagine our dog Phoenix being a problem but introductions will be done slowly and safely (any tips here are very welcome as well) :) Tubes sound awesome! What material do you recommend, wouldn't want them chewing off plastic bits (will check out that link ASAP) Thanks! ~WB
