Giant wild ferret!
-
Thursday, April 17, 2014 1:08 PM
I live in the mountains in Alberta, we were renovating a hotel last year and I saw this pine marten (I think). It was taken with a blackberry 9900 so the pictures aren't that great. It knew I was trying to get a picture of it so it was messing with me, ran around parked cars, and then ferret-hopped off into the woods, I got so distracted by this thing, I ended up wasting like 20 minutes of work time trying to chase it down for a good picture. whoops.

That is cool! I've seen some otters around here, yes, in florida, but I had a crappy phone and even tho the pics I took came out ok i couldn't zoom so all you could see was black dots for heads. i think they're the only wold mustelids here.

Thats awesome, there's otters here too, but ive never seen. We have so many mustelids here, I haven't seen nearly enough. But the biggest baddest alpha ferret claims territory here in the Rockies, and since last year, Ive made it a mission to find and photograph ... THE WOLVERINE! ... i don't know if i'll ever see one, they are so rare, I've only met like 3 people who have actually witnessed it. I'm gonna get a nice telescopic lens for my camera so it won't eat me! These things are extremely viscous and have been known to claim kills off grizzly bears, and it's the size of a regular dog!

Yeah wolverines are the kings of the jungle, lol. Thank goodness they stay away from people. A couple weeks ago a black bear attacked a woman in her garage and dragged her outside, not too far from Orlando. She got 40 staples in her scalp, plus others. Black bear attacks were pretty much unheard of in Florida until the past year. There have been 4 in 12 months. After this one the game wardens trapped and killed 7 bears around the neighborhood.

they're mad the Gators lost the sugar bowl last year... no seriously, maybe they're habitat is being developed on. Damn humans. Not A lot of bear attacks here, I mean for a national park. They stay away from the town, they have beef with the bearproof bins.
