Okay so I held my first ferret a few days ago and I fell in love with them but I have a question. I have have looked at ferrets everywhere and I think that they all look healthy, playful, and just alert but anyone know if I should get one from petland, petco, or petsmart. My only concern about petland is all the people that have touched them and could have gotten them sick. I don't feel the same about the other places cause they're enclosed away from people. (I have looked for breeders but they're all 65 miles away or more.) Anyway thanks for your answers ahead of time 😀. 

Hello and welcome to the forum! I personally would rather adopt from a ferret shelter but have gotten some of mine from pet stores. Being handled isn't really a bad thing. If they are handled while in the pet shop they're more used to people and hopefully not as apt to bite. I've had ferrets for over 17 years. Be sure and research them and then decide if they are the right pet for you. They are cute but can be expensive. Vet bills for one thing. They also need at least 4 hours a day out of the cage in a ferret proof area to play. And they love interaction with their human.

Thanks and I have been researching for hours a day and it should be another month or two until I get him cause there is always something to learn. And I think a Ferret will be perfect for me I have a lot of free time  and a large room for him to play. Oh and the ones at petland still nip even though they're handled all day. Thanks again 😁

My three are from Petco, but I didn't know about shelters at that time.
