New ferret cage. - Thursday, March 05, 2015 12:42 PM
Hello everyone. Im a first time ferret owner and this is my first post.

I bought my ferret from a buddy at work who kept him in a large glass aquarium tank. I recently bought him a Kaytee brand, multi-level cage. its a plastic tray bottom and metal bar enclosure. It has multiple shelves with ramps and a spiral slide. I've noticed however that the material the the shelves and ramps are made of is making it very difficult for my ferret to navigate and climb the shelves and ramps. Its too slippery for him and he ends up falling and slipping off the shelves. Does anyone have any solutions to this? I put strips of duct tape on the ramps to try and add traction, but the ferret shows no interest in climbing it.
I really hope I didn't spend all this money on a worthless cage.
