Allergies? - Saturday, January 03, 2015 11:53 AM
From what I've read ferrets can have allergies, and I'm thinking miss Latte is allergic to my 80pound shelter rescue Smokey, she sneezes when he is in the room, and anywhere he has been, or I was thinking it might be the dust and dirt, he is a mostly outside dog so when he comes in it isn't often as my mom and I get allergies from excessive dirt and dander from him so he has to be outside :(

just curious as to what anyone has to say, or if anyone has had any similar instances.

They have allergies just as we do. Try keeping them seperate to see.

Yes, ferrets can have allergies. One of my former boys that I rehomed last spring had allergies, and the vet had me give him children benedryl. It has to be children's, but you would have to talk to the vet about dosage because it varies. I recommend keeping them separate for a few days to see if it makes a difference first though.

After talking with the vet he said Latte has mild allergies that are fine on their own, so no meds for my baby luckily :)
