super rare?
-
Wednesday, November 05, 2014 7:38 PM
I have recently taking a great liking to black eyed white ferrets (DEW). And I am curious if they are super rare...I certainly hope not! For I would like to have one some day. I know DEWS are prone to being deaf, but I don't care. I would assist my deaf fuzzies the best I could! Of course, I don't mind really...Colors should be the least of a priority when looking for ferrets. But I was just simply curious...And are female DEWS more common than males? For I would want a DEW female. Thanks for the time and answers! If you would like, I would love to see a picture of anyone's DEW ferrets.

We've had 3, 2 females one male, all Marshall's from pet stores. Pandora is our most recent. She's 2 1/2. A lot of silvers/pandas end up white after a couple sheds.

My girl Toki started out that way, but now she has some gray up her spine and tail. She has not shed yet so I am not sure how she'll look later. I feel like I've seen a good number of them just in the pet stores though, good luck!

I'm a little slow, but I just realized that with Alice gone, all of our girls are white and all the boys are sables.

We don't get them in very often at my work. More common colors are obviously sables, then chocolates, then silvers. Occasionally we get a blaze/silver/DEW. My Percy is pretty much a DEW, though he started off silver. Weirdly, Wesley, who is older and is also a silver, has not changed color at all
Ferrets: Wesley, Percy, Owen -rip Bandit- Bettas- Kitty, Pip, and Logan Sun Conure- Kita Gerbils- Piper and Tailer

Pandora was 7 months when we got her from Petco. She has one black spot on her neck. Abita is a slowly fading silver. Lola is a weird mix of silver and cinnamon. Prissy was a dark panda once long ago.
