Same size/better? - Saturday, November 15, 2014 9:44 AM
Is this the same size as a double unit ferret nation cage? Does this cage look better than a ferret nation cage? Link is below.

Ferret nation cage is 914.40 MM L x 635MM W x 1587.5 H with a bar spacing of 25.400 MM on bars that are 142.87 MM long.

Basically they are very very similar in size and dimensions. The bar spacing on the one you linked is a little smaller, so if you plan on repurposing the cage for rats or something later down the road it would be a perk.

Some other concerns you should email the manufacturer about:

1. What is the assembly like?  One of the perks of the Ferret Nation is the easy assembly. No screws or anything that was hard to do. I'm able to put the cage together myself as well. I believe the first time I did need a rubber mallet, but now it's settled and is a breeze to take up or put down as needed.

2. Are there readily available replacement parts and what do they cost? Ferret Nation, again, has easy to get replacement parts if you damage a floor covering or something like that.

3. Are there ramp covers available? So that they don't hurt their little toes :D

Assuming the answers are yes to the above, then I would probably say it's a good bet that the cage will work out for you :)
This is also the time of the year when Ferret Nation does go on sale. I bought mine at the beginning of November last year, and got it shipped for right around $100 (for the double unit). So keep an eye out on those deals!
