Cause for concern? - Friday, October 24, 2014 4:28 AM
My ferret is a 2 year old albino, neutered and descented.
While giving him his bath today, I noticed a number of things that I don't know if I should be worried about or not.
1. I noticed slight hair loss on his back, between his shoulderblades, which I don't know if it's normal hair loss with the season change, or something more serious

2. I found a deer tick embedded in his skin, which judging by the engorgement (or lack thereof) hadn't been there for more than a couple days. Are ferrets susceptible to lyme disease? I remember reading somewhere that lyme disease has a specific body temperature that it likes. Could ferrets' body temperature be too high for it?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Oops, forgot one more thing:

I also noticed one of his eyes (the left one) was cloudy, as you would expect to see with cataracts, but 2 years old seems a bit young to be developing cataracts. Any other ideas as to what it could be, and should I be concerned?
