We noticed a small scab on the back of Pirates neck/head about a week or so ago, nothing major just figured maybe he scratched too hard and broke the skin. he either scratched it himself or cut it on something as he is a solitary ferret (dogs are afraid of him and run away from him so it couldn't be from them)
last night we noticed the scab is 4 X the size it was when we first saw it, about 1/2 inch or so. 
What can we put on it to ensure it doesn't become infected? Bacitracin, A&D ointment? We don't want to put anything on it that he may rub with his paw and then lick.

Triple antibiotic ointment is fine. No harm if taken infernally. Make sure itdoesn't  have acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
