Water - Friday, September 19, 2014 10:53 AM
Is it normal for a ferret/polecat to lovee water..?? I thought to get Rascal a smaller bowl to full it with water so she has her bottle plus a bowl for water but turns out she tried to drowned herself in it.. She dunked her head in it til all the water was gone. A few days after I had a sink full of cold water (thank god) and turned round and she was in it playing.. All the ferrets Ive had run away from first sign of water, or rain.. But she loves the stuff... is it normal?

Ill have to try that. I have a few extra, small litter boxes in the basement. Ours like to play in water like getting into the walk in shower with us (which can be less than endearing) or playing in the cat bowl. We bought them an infant sized blow up pool and they HATED it. Maybe it was just too large for them to deal with.

There are plenty of ferrets that like water.

My guys don't really swim in them but they dunk their heads in there and sort of snorkel around. They prefer to just "dig" at it than have their wee little bodies in it. :)
