Litter Training is failing miserably!

Anyone have any useful tips or tricks? Loki is 9 months, Ares is 11 weeks. And my boys are making a GRAND mess of their cage leaving ferret bombs and puddles ALL OVER the cage. They have a litter pan, and I was advised to only wipe out the pan when changing it to leave a slight scent to remind them that potty goes HERE, but they casually ignore it, and continue to potty all over. I'm cleaning it as soon as I see it, but it's never ending. At this rate, they will never get a chance to roam the house :(

Try adding another litter pan; I still have misses with my three.
