Keeping 2 jills in same cage - Sunday, January 29, 2017 8:59 PM
Hi i am new to this forum so I'd like to start by saying hi.
I have 2 Jill's in one large cage they are 9 months old and one hob in another cage now I am going to breed them but I am unsure if i should separate the Jill's whilst they are in kit or as they are related to the rodent family will they share the responsibility like mice and rats? i would appreciate any help on this matter thanks in advance

I would like to add none of the ferrets are related they are all from different breeders i wanted all white with red eyes so I had to shop around 150 mile radius from my house

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Ferrets are not rodents, they eat rodents. They are in the weasel family, they're related to weasels, stoats, polecats, minks, badgers, otters and wolverines.

Talking from experience, I do not advise breeding ferrets, I don't advise breeding as something a first time owner to do, it's very hard.
If you do breed them then please do a load of research and have contact with a breeder and ferret savvy vet for just in case things go wrong and you end up with complications.
