quality cat food
-
Friday, May 08, 2015 10:51 AM
I'm thinking about switching our ferret over to Taste Of The Wild cat food since he's still being picky about his ferret food. I would love to get feedback on what I need to look for in a good quality cat food what does the protein, crude fat, fiber, moisture, etc need to be at? Right now TOTW is 42/18/3/10 do these need to be higher or lower? And recommendations and suggestions and anything in between would be great! Currently I have all 3 fuzzies on Zupreem but the oldest one is being picky. And he is starting not to eat the ferret food again.... I was also told by my vet to ditch all vitamins and supplements bc of the sugar content. Any treat recommendations are welcome too!! I also have cubes of "duck soup" frozen. It's there ferret food with chicken baby food combined.

check out the More dooks Food chart http://moredooks.herobo.com/search.php?chart=ferret Ferret Nutrition http://moredooks.herobo.com/ferretnutrition.php My favor saying is: Ferrets don’t need treats, it’s us human who think they need treats. The best choice for treats for your ferret are meat based treats. Cooked chicken, turkey and steak are great treats. Never give your ferret any fruits (fresh or dried) or high carb- sugary treats such as raisins, cheerios, 8-1 yoggies, or anything banana-raisin flavored. Ferrets are obligate carnivores, which means they require a diet that's very high in meat-based protein and fat. Because they lack a cecum, ferrets cannot digest plant protein, so fruits and veggies is a no…no - no matter how much they beg. Sugary snacks, such as raisins, may cause obesity, tooth decay, and aggravation of hypoglycemia caused by insulinomas. High carbohydrate treats, such as cookies, cereal and bread may lead to diseases of the pancreas. Yes, they will beg for healthy treats. Here are some suggestions for healthy treats Cooked or raw chicken, turkey, steak N- bones Totally Ferret Treats Foamy Fries Ferretone Chesweasel Mice and or baby chicks Eggs Chicken gravy or duck soup Stage 2 baby Food

I just filled out a thing for a free $3 off coupon on the nature's variety raw food!! :) we are going to check out our choices at the closest feed store tomorrow and then make a trip to the big pet stores next weekend to buy the nature's variety raw! Will definitely be giving them some bold chicken and eggs!! I can only imagine how they will react to those! Lol we have access to farm fresh eggs; would those be better than store bought?

Nature variety will also send you coupons for $3.00 off on their product. Make sure you sign up for that. Fresh eggs are always better than the store ones. No egg whites for ferrets.....just yokes.
