I take my little ferret 'Elsa' down in the basement to play. Reason being I have a American Bull Dog who is very jealous of anything or anyone who gets near me. She wouldn't hurt her, she just is to ruff and it worries me. Well any way I have a litter box in the basement and Elsa will hit it maybe 2 out of 10 times. I have also put litter boxes in the areas where she goes and she will go in front of them or beside them. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do. I had two other ferrets before and never had this much problem with the litter training.

I have the same problem when mine are out playing. I have somne that will use the litter pan and some that won't. I think they're to busy playing anbd just go where they are. One thing that will help is runner plastic. I put it around the perimeter of of the room where there have a habit of going. Also under the litter pan and extended some. That way if they go in front it's an easy clean up. The funny thing is, one that won't use it when out playing will always use it in his cage. The plastic isn't very expensive either.
