Which kibble?
-
Tuesday, November 04, 2014 11:32 AM
Natures Logic cat or Orijen cat for ferrets? I do believe Orijen is better quality, but the kibble size is big for a ferret. And Natures Logic kibble is the perfect size for little mouths! I also learned (along with raw whole prey) ferrets should have kibble and canned. Natures Logic makes canned food, Orijen doesn't... Natures Logic doesn't use synthetic vitamins either!because I know wysong uses synthetics along with Evo; for I have looked into thier ferret foods. So basically, all ferret kibble seems to be rubbish. And it looks like it's high quality cat food for me! So, should I use Natures Logic (becasue of the kibble size and no synthetics and canned food) or Orijen (becasue of the slightly higher quality). Thanks for the time and answers, blessings to you and your ferrets!

Why not go for a mixture of the two. I use 3 different kibbles in my mix. I use Orijen, Evo and Zupreem in my mixture. I make a duck soup for their other food I never used canned cat food and never will. We use mixtures because ferrets imprint on their food early and if a manufacturer decides to stop making a food they are eating I know they still have 2 others they will eat.

We avoid corn and peas. We fed Evo and 8in1 Ultimate for a long time but they suddenly decided they don't like them anymore. So now we feed Zupreem Ferret Diet, Dr Foster and Smith (online only at drsfostersmith.com) and mix in a corn free cat food for the third. Right now they're getting Natural gold. We also make soups using ground kibble mix, canned all meat cat food and raw ground turkey.

I feed my furkids the nature variety products. (no grain kibbles and commerical raw diet). I also make raw soup for them. I will also pickup a whole chicken cook it up and then blend it up in a blender for soup. I hope this helps
