i was thinking of investing my ferret fund money into a sewing machine and fabric. i hope to make money selling and making hammocks. i want to personalize them with fabric choice and custom designs, but i am not sure if anyone would buy them over more convienent store bought ones. Please let me know soon!

Most of my hammock or ferret bedding is handmade. Much better quality then store products.

It would all depend on your work. Customer need to see the work and reviews on the product. ;-)

This is feasible for you if you decide to do it. I make all of my own stuff (except if I find a nifty thing that I think they'd like). I generally use anti-pill flannel and anti-pill fleece, and all of my stuff has lasted longer than store bought stuff already - my oldest ferrets just turned one year last month). These fabrics also typically are on sale most of the year. Also, Joanne's issues phone coupons which are quite helpful. I really like making sleep sacks and the hammocks, but research the hammock designs thoroughly. Some designs are not so great, and some are great. Personally I plan on using rivets on my next set, and making different length ties that I can attach or detach to fit different configurations for whatever I'm trying to do int he cage. I personally wouldn't buy, as I make my own, but you could always try etsy.
